Graduate Assistants: Teaching, Mentoring, Assisting
Graduate Assistantship at NU (GA) is a form of engagement of PhD students that provides practical experience that builds disciplinary and transferrable knowledge, skills, and abilities. Three types of Graduate Assistantship are defined: Graduate Administrative Assistantships (GAA), Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTA), and Graduate Summer Research Assistantships (GSRA). PhD students holding any current GA can be eligible to receive the PhD Support Stipend that is designed to help defray living costs so that they can focus on full-time study and research required to complete a quality PhD.

NU Graduate Assistantship application process is online. Apply below following the announced deadlines to complete the form for a selected assignment and submit your supplementary documents. Students can choose any of the three GA semesters during an academic year to fulfil their GA obligations.
Graduate Assistantship for Summer 2025 semester will be available between
May 20 and 30.
